Paris ooh-La-la !
John Smith, a self-conscious, round-faced, and nearsighted American businessman, comes to Paris to finalize a contract. He is determined to spend, within twenty-four hours, the fortune he has just inherited from his father, in the company of the city’s “little women.” He goes from one strip club to another, serves as a judge in a bikini beauty contest, and saves a despairing young woman from drowning in the Seine. Yet, despite all his good intentions, his clumsy manners and thick humor earn him nothing but failures with the many people he meets. Drunk on champagne, he returns to his hotel with dark thoughts, when a woman of rare distinction smiles at him. They will not exchange a single word during this brief Parisian adventure. Thus, John Smith will never know that the ravishing Miss Jones was a native of Alabama or Nevada, equally convinced that she had, biblically, once known a Frenchman.
