Paris 1960, George, a 15-year-old homosexual schoolgirl, falls madly in love with one of her teachers, 40-year-old Sybil. The two had a secret and passionate affair that lasted three years. After Sybil's suicide, 19-year-old George decides never to love anyone again, and to burn his youth in the lampposts of a night without dawn. George becomes GIGOLA, a sort of gigolo for the ladies. She dresses as a man, goes out only at night, deals with pimps, is maintained by rich women and prostitutes, and frequents Paris's homosexual night spots on a daily basis. She happily sports a tuxedo, a cane with a snake-shaped knob, and Modigliani-style ties. Her nocturnal adventures bring us into contact with Linda, Cora, Dolly, Dominique, Johanne, not forgetting Moune, owner of the most famous women's cabaret in Paris, and Odette, the pleasure-hungry old billionaire with a taste for young tomboys...
